Support Camp Lowden

Every year hundreds of Scouts enjoy experiences of a lifetime at Camp Lowden. We are enormously proud of the facilities and programs that Camp Lowden has to offer. Our buildings and other facilities are important program tools; however they need constant care and attention. Their maintenance is important to the success of program and services to Scouts and units.

Well-kept facilities assist in building good camp morale, develop respect for property, and enlist the cooperation of staff, campers, and adult volunteers in its upkeep. The program is improved because the facilities are available and usable. Dollars saved through preventive maintenance will ensure the investment of more money to meet expanding needs.

That is where you come in. We are always recruiting volunteers to help us improve our camp facilities. Perhaps you (or others that you know) have special skills, or access to equipment. Perhaps the Scouts in your unit would like to earn service hours (except for Eagle).

How You Can Help

  • Camp Improvement Days
  • - Camp Lowden has improvement days in the spring and/or fall of each year. Scouts, Scouters, and friends are needed to help with various projects to improve the camp (please note that you must be over the age of 18 to operate any power equipment in camp.)

  • Woodcutting Days
  • - Camp Lowden has woodcutting days in the spring and fall of each year. Scouts, Scouters, and friends are needed to help with cutting, splitting, hauling, and stacking wood for use during the fall and winter camp season (please note that you must be over the age of 18 to operate any power equipment in camp.)

  • Campmaster Corps
  • - A group of Scouters who give their time to help out by operating Camp Lowden on the weekends so the camp ranger can assume other responsibilities. Campmaster duties include checking units in and out of camp; serving as a “friendly face” and central point of contact to act as camp liaison for units; performing periodic site visits, etc.
We invite you to add your talents and interests to support Camp Lowden. Whatever help you may be able to give will be greatly appreciated. In doing so, we will all benefit by preserving the camp for future generations of youth to enjoy.
