Unit Camping

In addition to popular summer camp programs, Camp Lowden serves as a site for Scout unit camping during the rest of the year. Units can use the campsites and several cabins to provide Scouts with outdoor experience and opportunity for advancement.

Be sure to make your reservation as soon as possible as weekends fill up quickly.

Campsites: There are eight established campsites in camp that can be used for tent camping:
  • Frontiersman
  • Winnebago
  • Highlander
  • Pioneer
  • Trailblazer
  • Ranger
  • Explorer
  • Riverview
Cabins: There are several cabins in camp that can be used in spring, fall, or winter for cabin camping. Check out the Cabin Guide for a brief description of each cabin.
Canoes: Camp Lowden has canoes and three trailers that are available for rental
Dumpster: The dumpster is located at the north end of the parking lot.
Water: There are three all-weather wells. They are: 1) Main Lodge well to the south end of the building; 2) Ranger campsite; and 3) Thunderhawk campsite. Each group should be sure and bring its own water containers.
Firewood: Firewood is located near each cabin and in areas designated by the Ranger or Campmaster. The wood is only for stove or fireplace use during the off-season and should not be used in campsite firepits.
Hiking Trails: There is a network of marked hiking trails throughout the camp and the surrounding state forest.
